Getting Started
- Purchase a Hytale server plan at reactor-servers.com
- On first start, check your server logs for an OAuth2 authentication URL
- Visit the URL in your browser to authorize the server (one-time setup)
- Once authorized, the server will start and players can connect
- Share your server IP and port (default: 5520/UDP) with friends
First-Time Authentication
Hytale requires a one-time OAuth2 browser authentication when the server first starts. Check the server console/logs for the authorization URL. This is only needed once per server.

Connection Guide
Hytale uses the QUIC protocol over UDP (not TCP like most games). Make sure:
- You're connecting to the correct IP and port (default 5520)
- Your firewall allows UDP traffic on the server port
- Both client and server are on the same Hytale version
Authentication Modes
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Authenticated (default) | Players must have a valid Hytale account. Recommended for security. |
| Offline | No account verification. Anyone can join with any name. Not recommended for public servers. |
Performance Tips
- View Distance: Default is 12 chunks (384 blocks). Lower values reduce RAM and CPU usage.
- Max Memory: Bronze tier allocates 8GB. Adjust view distance if you experience lag.
- Player count: More players = more chunks loaded. Scale your tier accordingly.
